Part of the Furniture in Minehead Since the Late '80s

Tucked away on Friday Street, Paraphernalia Antiques & Collectables has been part of Minehead’s fabric for over three decades. This isn’t just a shop—it’s a familiar face in town, a proper local spot run by folks who care about what they do.

Founded by Locals, Grown with Heart

Founded in the late '80s or early '90s (depending who you ask!) by four passionate local traders, sadly, all of whom have since passed on, Paraphernalia has been keeping the charm of antiques and collectables alive ever since. Over the years, it’s grown into a place where people pop in for a natter, a browse, or to uncover something unexpected.

A Community All Under One Roof

Today, the shop is home to many independent local traders and collectors, each bringing their own eye for the unusual. From vintage guitars and decorative swords to glittering gold and silver jewellery, there’s always something different on the shelves. It’s the kind of place where you can find a treasure without even knowing you were looking for one.

No Gimmicks, Just Straightforward, Honest Service

We’ve never relied on flashy gimmicks or big promises, just honest service, years of know-how, and a love for what we do. Whether you’re here for a free in-store appraisal, to get your sewing machine repaired, or simply to have a wander and a chat, you’ll always be welcome.

A Nod from the Antiques Road Trip

In 2017, Paraphernalia made a brief appearance on the Antiques Road Trip when the BBC rolled into Minehead. A nice bit of fun, but around here, it’s the regulars, returning visitors, and everyday conversations that really shape the place. That’s the story we’re proud to be part of.

Still Here, Still Ours

In a town where businesses come and go, Paraphernalia remains a steady, trustworthy presence. It’s not about competition or trying to be the biggest name on the street. It’s about sticking to what we know, supporting local people, and keeping that independent spirit alive.

Pop In Anytime

So if you’re after something a bit different, want to sell a few bits, or just fancy a trip down memory lane, come by and see what’s in store. We’re open Monday to Saturday, 10:30am – 4:00pm. No pressure. No nonsense. Just proper antiques, collectables, and friendly service.
